The Red Light Cameras are still in force in certain cities across the State of Florida.  If you received a Notice of Violation in the mail regarding the Red Light Camera the amount should be $158.00.  If you choose to pay the violation there should be no points issued and it should not affect motor vehicle insurance rates (Please read the Notice if you have received one, it should state this information).  Other options are stated and may be chosen if they apply to you, please read the Notice thoroughly.  If you allow the violation to pass the due date, you would be issued a Florida Uniform Traffic Citation which should also be mailed to you and that citation can be fought in Court.  Please contact the office if you have further questions regarding these types of violations.  Focusing on the tri county area here in South Florida, all of the citations issued in Palm Beach County for Red Light Cameras are being dismissed at this time, however there is no guarantee of that outcome and in Broward and Miami Dade there is pending action in the State of Florida while some are being dismissed others are continually being rescheduled in Court.
